Today is our project’s birthday, it’s 17 years old! Unfortunately, in Ukraine, where we live and work, the war continues, so MagShop celebrates this event without much joy, mentally thanking everyone who has supported and helped throughout the entire time, and especially the last 19 months, when this support and help were more important than ever. Thank you guys!
This time again there will be no traditional gathering of authors, readers and collectors of ultras literature. There will be no long-awaited meeting with colleagues and friends. And we have a lot of them! Thanks to the new website, which was put into operation at the end of February, the development of pages on social networks, as well as the transition to English as the main language of broadcasting, the community around MagShop has become even larger than it was. This is what inspires our team to move forward, to become better, more interesting, continuing to instill in young people sympathy for fan selfprint, explaining its exceptional role in ultras culture, and at the same time maintaining a love for fanzines among representatives of the old school, who literally grew up on them.
Over the past year, we have achieved several more local victories: almost without interruption, despite power outages, we continued to talk about new products from different parts of the world; diversified the presentation of information with short videos showing unpacking of sent correspondence, receiving a lot of positive feedback for this; we collected a decent assortment of books in the store, many of which became real bestsellers; we completed work on restoring the layout of the 9th issue of the old Ukrainian fanzine STRANNIK, after which we reprint all nine issues of this cult publication; carried out several campaigns to distribute magazines for donations, transferring funds to the volunteer headquarters of fan movements of various Ukrainian clubs, whose representatives are on the first line of the front; and finally, for the 17th anniversary of our project, known far beyond Eastern Europe, we released commemorative paraphernalia - T-shirts and pins, which you can and should order right now, because the quantity is limited. Just like a year ago, we want to send all the profits from the sale of pins to the Ukrainian foundation STAND OF HEROES, which specializes in helping the families of fans, ultras and hooligans killed in the war. MagShop is also very proud of the gratitude from this foundation, issued last summer. Since then, it has been hanging in a prominent place in our small, cozy office, reminding us every day that our most important victory is still ahead. The main thing is not to give up and fight for it with all your might, even while in the rear.
Happy birthday again, dear friends! Raise your glasses higher for our 17th anniversary because it’s worth it!
